Happy Birthday and tag

I started this card the other day, having fun with watercolor splatters and embossing paste and then I got super side tracked… get this…cleaning my craft room.  If any of you marveled at the mess from last week's PTI Stamp-a-Faire welcome party, check out my after photo.  But thankfully got a bit of time to work on it tonight, so hard to find things when you bother to put them away!  I was inspired by Aimes' CASE Study 4th Anniversary card.  I used a Unity stamp, PTI sentiment, washi tape, stencil, embossing paste, vellum, embossing powder and some gold ink to dye the wood veneer stars.

And Lynn is forever inspiring me with her projects, so when I saw the new Time Out Challenge
if music be the food of love, play on
I thought it would be fun to use the Unity music stamp and Wplus9 food goodies.  I added the PTI die and 3 types of May Arts ribbon and used the Lawn Fawn tag die.  And Simon Says Stamps is having an anything goes challenge this week, so I'll add these projects to that challenge too.  Hope everyone is having a lovely Labor Day weekend, I spent the day on the shores of Lake Tahoe today, always a great outing.  But, my weekend is about to be over, as I head back to work tomorrow.

smile coffee card

there's a trend going on over here….  this card looks a lot like Monday's card and I'm a-okay with that! Today's card uses the new Lawn Fawn "love you a latte" cups and sentiment, plus Lawn Fawn tag dies.  I've added some May Arts rilk ribbon, DCWV burlap paper, a doily, dry embossed the kraft card stock with a PTI cover plate and it's hard to tell but added the Hero Arts newsprint background stamp to the base layer.  The chevron paper is from my stash…  Happy Thursday, perhaps next week I'll make something other then coffee cards?  (I'm blaming ~amy~ for the continued coffee theme, she keeps enabling me with great new products).  And because Simon Says Stamp is having an anything goes challenge, I'm going to add this to that new challenge.

coffee card

Happy Monday morning, I have no idea how it's already time for another PTI Blog Hop, but here's a little perk me up for all those post-stamp-a-faire hang over crafters….   You know me and coffee anything…and tags…and May Arts ribbon.

More Stamp-a-Faire cards

Happy Sunday friends... okay, so I've been playing in my craft room again.... I don't think I'm going to be able to play along with every PTI Stamp-a-Faire challenge (I'm currently at work), but here are a few more cards inspired by the fun.  The top card uses the morning timer challenge.  My first go around it took me 14:44, but I wanted another layer, so I chopped the original card in pieces and added it to the PTI cover plate that was floating around my desk from earlier this week, so I think I made it under 20 minutes, but I kept tinkering with the card after I "finished."    CASology is having a "Java" challenge this week, not sure if my card has one too many layers for a CAS challenge, but....

This card is for the 80's retro rainbow challenge, I went for a rainbow pinwheel and the fun Trapper Keeper idea.

And my final project today is the Time after Time challenge.  I started my greeting card Facebook page (before my blog) in January 2010 and the card on the left is one of the first cards I posted.  I like the new version of the card better.  I'll probably sneak in another project before the fun ends, but better get back to work now.

bride tag

One more PTI Stamp-a-Faire, love the idea of glitter and rhinestones....

life is a journey

Another card for the Stamp-a-Faire fun, this one is antique embossing, check out Melissa's video on how to age gold embossing.  I've used all sorts of PTI goodies on here, fun to dig through multiple sets for the right images.

celebrate today and always

Happy Saturday!  So I'm still just as disorganized as yesterday (click here for proof), but I'm going to see if I can make a dent in that mess....  I'm playing along with the PTI Stamp-a-Faire "Faux Frescoes" and the CAS(E) this sketch!  I've used a stencil and some black embossing paste for my faux fresco and added the PTI double sided banner die and a Mat Stack sentiment.  I used the PTI In Bloom flowers heat embossed on vellum and trimmed a piece of May Arts ribbon.  I distressed the edges of the PTI kraft card stock with antique linen distress ink and presto.

Organized? Who me?

So I'm excited to play along with the PTI Stamp-a-Faire fun tomorrow, I have a wedding to attend, so who knows how many of the challenges I'll get to participate in... and I didn't buy the kit, but I'll give it a shot, right?  So, tonight Nichole has asked to post a photo of where you are and how organized you are-- so I'm in Nevada City, California and I'm not at all organized (see photos for proof).

you make my heart smile

you make my heart smile….  I was inspired by Cristina's fun card for the CASE Study Anniversary challenge.  I have two grocery bags full of punches I was given and one of these days I'll pull them out of their bags and put them somewhere I can actually see them… but in the mean time today's challenge was a great motivation to look inside the bag and low and behold I found these circles.  I was also drawn to Cristina's card b/c I love the sentiment…  because today I get to go meet that new baby I mentioned on Monday (and I was WRONG, it's a girl!).   Happy Thursday crafty friends….

baby card

Happy Monday!  Playing along with the new PTI Make It Monday challenge.  Team "blue" (i.e. my boys) are rooting for a new baby boy cousin (who cross our fingers will arrive later today), so in honor of that excitement I've made a baby card.  If it's a girl, I'll remake the card in pink :)  Laurie's video is about using the negatives from the PTI cover plates and I added some to the soft grey card stock then splattered the card base with some metallic blue water color and then die cut out the panel with the Lil Inker stiched frame mat.  B/c we all know I'm a tag junkie, I used the PTI Tiny Tags and Tremendous Tags, some May Arts burlap string and 1/4 inch chevron twill ribbon and added a vellum PTI Half and Half die, Studio Calico wood stars and then added a piece of May Arts 2 1/2 inch cotton blend ribbon for the background.  Just thinking of me nervously awaiting the big news while I fold laundry at the Outside Inn today....
